Hello

I call myself an Inksmith; I work with illustration, mapmaking, hand lettering, printmaking and artists’s books.

Drawing is the underlying essence of all my work using colour to enhance the stories I tell.

My inspiration is collected from a number of sources, particularly the natural world where I’m obsessed with detail, looking closely but also looking at things most people would overlook through familiarity. I’m also interested by our responses to the human condition and the challenges of everyday life.

The range of clients I work with is varied and wide; from livery companies to ice cream parlours along with private commissions.

I teach workshops around the UK where I encourage and support exploration into the experience of our lives, sometimes helping to navigate difficult areas.

In 2021 I self published my sketchbook ‘The Diary of an Artist in Lockdown’ to international acclaim. The edition of 500 sold out before its publication date.

My base is in north London with Mr Inkpot where I love tending to my family of garden flowers and weeds which I walk through on my way to work at The Inkpad; my garden studio.
