My Journey of 29.5 Steps Workshop // 10th & 11th May 2025 // Isle of Bute

This workshop is about slowing down and drawing your attention into the micro world around you where we notice the magic, even in the mundane.

In our haste what do we overlook?

Before the workshop you’ll be sent details of how to record in detail and take notes on a short walk of 29.5 steps (29.5 days is the length of the moon’s cycle). 

In the morning of Day One of the workshop you will be making a a small landscape Leather Longstitch Sketchbook, lined with a decorative Japanese paper and filled with heavyweight Fabriano paper with Helen of Helen Handmade Books.

In the afternoon and on day two we will be bringing together the details of your short walk to record all the tiny details of your walk you’ve noticed.

We’ll use lettering, collage, colour, drawing to expand the walk over pages in your Longstitch sketchbook capturing the magical beauty in what could have so easily been forgotten and missed.

The workshop will be held at Sealladh Breagha in Rothesay, Isle of Bute PA20 0QG and will run from 10am to 4:30 pm on both days.

Cancellation:

Please note cancellation fees apply to this workshop. Helen Perry and I are travelling up to Bute specifically to teach this workshop.
We require three weeks notice if you wish to cancel for a full refund. Cancelling between one week and three weeks will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the workshop fee and less than one week will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the workshop fee.
